This volume brings together the balances of Italian Slavic studies carried out over the past thirty years and outlines the prospects for future ones, with reference to numerous thematic areas, starting with those of a more general nature such as the history of Slavistics, Slavic philology and linguistics, and moving on to those characterized by an interdiscliplinary perspective such as translation theory, literary theory, literary comparatistics, and the arts. In-depth balances then concern studies of the literatures most studied in Italy, such as Russian, Polish and Czech, but research concerning other disciplinary areas cultivated in Italian universities, such as Slovenian Serbo-Croatian, Belorussian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian, is not neglected.
